Meandering descriptions

Relaxed Movement is a mindfulness experience. Seated gentle stretching and joint movement for pain management, range of motion, and peace of mind!

In 1989 I was brought to a calm and contemplative journey into spirit led movement at Kripalu.org where we learned “meditation in motion”, focusing on breath and sensation while moving mindfully.

Mindfulness teachings for mental health have helped me return to these gentle and wise ways of taking care of myself in body and mind, and spirit could be considered the silent observer of experience.

I studied Chair based Movement in 2024 to learn how to lead gentle stretches and range of motion while remaining seated, to address stiffness, soreness, and develop awareness of sensations. We aim to find a comfortable range of motion, encourage flexibility, and enjoy a peaceful experience. A regular to the library named what we do “relaxed movement”.

What is ixoye?

IXOYE – The title ixoye is a heart-felt honouring of God. In Greek letters it stands for Jesus Christ, God’s Son, Saviour. I am grateful for the quickened life in the spirit, freely available, flowing, living. My husband and I have found much peace and strength in our faith supplied by Jesus Christ, who renews and sustains life and gives us all of the fruit of His Spirit: love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and temperance, meaning moderation.

ixoye brings the things of the spirit to mind when I see it written, and I hope that others will pause and think on these things, too, upon reminders seen and heard and felt. I appreciate the expression of yogafaith.com, that we acknowledge God in all our ways, in body, mind, spirit, by caring for our bodies, the vessel of the spirit.

Relaxed Movement with Julie

My name is Julie Babudro. I offer a simple 20 or 30-minute seated, gentle, relaxed movement class. It’s a slow, careful range of motion for joints and muscles, tendons, and ligaments to loosen and relax, for better mobility, improved rest, and peace of mind.

I have been certified in Dartmouth, Nova Scotia and in Lenox, Massachusetts to lead safe, slow and relaxing movements for all levels.

This is a gentle class which helps to increase one’s range of motion and flexibility. Mindfulness based meditation is an integral aspect of this class based on compassionate self observation and simple gratitude, peace, and joy.

In this class we get quiet, move slowly, and let our bodies rest briefly in various stretches, finding our own individual range of motion. We practice calm breathing and mindful moments, stillness, and movement.

I believe relaxed movement is an important exercise for all to try. It is good for our bodies and our minds!

Mindfulness in gentle movement is simple and helpful. Participants enjoy numerous benefits both during and after each session.
